Food Porn at Work

When I worked in an office, one of the hardest things for me was the food that would always be around.  Muffins in the morning.  A box of candy by the receptionist’s desk.  Birthday parties in the afternoon.  I don’t even like store-bought birthday cakes with their foul fake frosting, but by golly I’d be right in there with my colleagues, munching away.

Luckily, my office is now in my house, so any food porn to be found is my own fault.   Since some of you work in traditional office settings, I thought you might find this article interesting.

  1. Food porn…hee hee…I’m going to be giggling over that all day!

  2. The office where I used to work had a cafeteria. For a while they had a cook working there that would make hundreds of cinnamon rolls every morning. These were the best I ever tasted, they were always fresh and warm from the oven. They were huge, and only cost 50 cents. The cafteria was also stocked with every candy bar imaginable.
I’m glad I work at home now.

  3. Working in an office is quite a challenge munch-wise. Thanks for the article. I’m planning on re-entering the work-force at some point, so these tips will help a great deal.

  4. Um, that store bought cake with the thick goopy super sweet icing? Is actually one of my downfalls. I was REALLY glad at Dear Son’s birthday party last month there were only two small pieces left. I let him have those over the next two days, meaning I limited my cake intake to one (1). It was a proud moment.

  5. I think working from home, especially if you are stuck to a computer, is much harder for dieting than working in an office. Nobody takes muffins into work in the UK.

  6. Ooooh, offices are hard. Nobody does snack food better than a bunch of women stuck in an office all day. The worst ones? 3rd shifters! I swear when I worked on 3rd shift I gained 15 pounds in the first two months.
